Swiss association in Ladakh :Gamyul Phanday Tsogspa

drapeau

Gamyul Phanday Tsogspa is a Swiss association (Gam means remote, Yul village, Phanday well-being and Tsogspa society) dedicated to handicapped children of Ladakh while (also) supporting remote villages of that region of India, in the Himalayas.

Our association has two goals:

  • bring a concrete help to handicapped children. A teacher specialized in teaching children with special needs works with physically and mentally deficient pupils aged from 4 to 16. She visits the families and as well as a small institution dedicated to these children.

  • support locals living in settlements situated above 4000m (13000 ft) out of road range, in the fields of social life, education and economy. However this is to remain a temporary help as to not create a dependence.

Currently Gamyul Phanday Tsogspa intends to increase mainly its area dedicated to physically and/or mentally challenged children.
